Listen to personal reflections and insights that bring powerful perspectives to the conversation around relationships and ‘system’ change.
About this Event

This is the second event hosted by the Hopeful Disruptors, following the success of their first event: Reshaping the landscape of childrens social work.

What would change in practice if parents truly had a voice at the table? A Voice at the Table is an interactive, relational event that centres parents lived experience and turns it into practical learning for social workers and practitioners with one focus:

  • What will you do differently when you next sit with a family on a home visit, in a core group, or conference?
This is a space for honest reflection, compassionate accountability, and real-world practice solutions.

What to expect:

  • No stage - a circle-style, conversational format
  • Parent-led reflections and learning
  • Guided audience participation throughout
  • An anonymous activity where professionals can name real barriers to relationship-based practice
  • Optional informal after-space nearby for continued conversation

Who it’s for:

  • Social workers (including newly qualified/ASYE), Family Support Workers
  • Managers, educators, Heads of Service, Directors
  • Parents with lived experience, advocates, community members
  • Anyone committed to improving how systems relate to families

What you'll leave with:

  • Clear, practical takeaways.
  • A better understanding of how “voice” is experienced in real life.
  • Awareness and understanding of holding risk and empathy alongside one another.
  • Connection with a network of people who recognise the need for relational and system level change.

Accessibility & notes:

  • Venue details will be shared with ticket holders once confirmed.
  • We aim for a respectful, psychologically safe space. We challenge practice and behaviour - not individual people.

Hopeful Disruptors - Together we can impact change.
