A Peaceful Three-Week Spiritual Journey to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
We are inviting expressions of interest from like-minded people across the United States who would like to join us for an approximately three-week spiritual journey through beautiful Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has preserved an extraordinary Buddhist heritage for more than 2,000 years. This journey will give us an opportunity to experience ancient temples, magnificent stupas, sacred relics, historic Buddhist cities and peaceful places of meditation and reflection.
We hope to visit some of Sri Lanka's most significant Buddhist sacred places, including Anuradhapura, Mihintale, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla and Kandy, together with other important places that will be included in the final itinerary.
This is not intended to be a rushed sightseeing tour. It is a peaceful journey with time to learn, reflect, meditate, experience Sri Lankan culture and travel in the company of respectful, like-minded people.
Do I Need to Be Buddhist?
No. You do not have to be Buddhist or belong to any temple or spiritual organization.
Perhaps you are interested in Buddhism. Perhaps you practice meditation or mindfulness. Perhaps you simply wish to learn about the Buddha's teachings and experience the peaceful spiritual heritage of Sri Lanka.
All we ask is that those joining come with an open mind and respect for the spiritual nature of the journey and for one another.
Who Is Coordinating the Journey?
The journey is being coordinated by a U.S.-registered nonprofit with an international humanitarian focus. One of its senior leaders will personally be making the journey and wanted to extend the opportunity to other like-minded people who may wish to experience it together.
We anticipate approximately three weeks in Sri Lanka, allowing us to travel at a comfortable pace rather than rushing from place to place.
Travel Expenses
This is not a free or sponsored trip. Each participant will be responsible for their own airfare, accommodations, meals, travel insurance, applicable entry requirements and personal expenses.
We will coordinate the proposed itinerary and group arrangements, and more detailed information regarding dates, accommodations, transportation and estimated individual expenses will be provided as the plans are finalized.
