About this Event
Join us on Saturday, November 14, at 6:30 PM at the Performance Garage for a special evening of dance, celebration, and community as we introduce KyLin Movement and embark on an exciting new chapter.
The evening will feature the first public performance by Weiwei Ma / Dancers, offering audiences a first look at the artistic vision of choreographer and dance artist Weiwei Ma. A longtime senior dance artist with Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, Weiwei earned her MFA in Dance from Temple University and has spent more than a decade creating and performing in Philadelphia. Her work brings Chinese traditional dance and cultural heritage into conversation with American contemporary dance, exploring how tradition can be inherited, transformed, and given new life.
Building upon the legacy of Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers (KYL/D), KyLin Movement represents an exciting evolution of our organization. Through artistic programming, cultural exchange, education, community engagement, and creative workforce development, KyLin Movement seeks to create meaningful opportunities for artists, young people, families, and communities.
Guests will also be introduced to the vision for the Trocadero Arts and Culture Center, an ambitious initiative centered around Philadelphia's historic Trocadero Theatre. Envisioned as a vibrant destination for arts, culture, education, and creative workforce development, the project seeks to connect Philadelphia's rich cultural heritage with its creative future.
Throughout the evening, enjoy delicious food and drink, and opportunities to connect with the artists, collaborators, and leaders shaping KyLin Movement's future.
Your support will help us build this next chapter—one where cultural heritage is not simply preserved, but lived, shared, reimagined, and carried forward by the next generation.
Celebrate what we've built. Discover what's ahead. Be part of the movement.
