About this Event

Join the Institute for Environment, Conservation and Sustainability (IECS) for a special book talk by Dr. Brett Caraway, Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and author of A Critical Introduction to the Economics of Sustainability.

In this talk, Dr. Caraway will examine the relationship between economic growth, technological development, and environmental change. Drawing on insights from his newly published book, he will discuss how different schools of economic thought have understood sustainability and explore the historical connections between industrial development, energy systems, communication technologies, and ecological crises.

The presentation will be followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.
