Why Pan-Africanism?
Pan Africanism is the belief that all people of African descent — no matter where in the world they were born, no matter what language they speak or flag they carry — share a common heritage, a common struggle, and a common destiny.
It is the idea that the story of Africa did not end at its borders. It traveled. Through the Middle Passage and the Caribbean. Through the streets of London, Paris, São Paulo, and Phoenix. Through every kitchen where a grandmother kept a recipe alive that her grandmother had kept alive before her. Pan Africanism says that all of those people — and all of those kitchens — belong to the same family.
