📆Friday 16th October we are back at Number 28 with a '3rd Friday Feast' that's open to all.
⏳Doors at 6.30pm - food at 7pm(ish)
Lead cook Marcela, aided by Pippa-from-number28 & friends, will be serving an authentic meal of Mexican tacos
· Soft corn tortillas with two fillings
· Mole (‘sauce’ in the Aztec language), traditionally made with chillies and chocolate.
· Salsa verde with courgette, sweetcorn and home-grown tomatillos
· Refried beans
· Rice
Note: while Marcela will be using different types of chilli, the focus is on earthy, mellow flavour rather than heat. If you’re wary of hot spice, we see you!
Followed by...
· Chocolate chilli marble cake with a pouring sauce
The dessert will be made with capona flour, and Marcela will tell us a little more about this product and why it is close to her heart and her chosen charity, a Mexican re-forestation project.

There’s only one more 3FF after this before we wrap up for the year. We’re not cooking in December, so book now! The last 3FF of 2026 will be on 20th November, when Miles of Freedom Feed Em fame will be guest cheffing with the lovely Ola & friends.
WHAT IS THIS?
3FF is a community dining experience on 3rd Fridays at Number 28 community space in Belper.
Each month a team of volunteers serves a main course and pudding.
Donations are taken after the meal, and any surplus after costs is donated to a charity of the lead cook's choice.
Diners are asked if they're willing to volunteer for a small chore - many hands make light work, and many friends are made while drying dishes!
Spaces are free to book, but we ask that when choosing how much to donate on the night, you consider:
A: what you can afford (paying nothing is of course acceptable)
B: a donation based on the costs for putting on the event (usually around £5-10 a head) plus more if you value community projects or want to support the chosen charity.
C: adding a solidarity premium, to help subsidise costs for your neighbours who may be less able to do so.
