About this Event
Curated by Marika Sardar, in collaboration with Dawani Art Gallery, this exhibition presents the work of Ronaque, Rahat and Farhat Ali. While they are brothers, the work they produce is unique: unique in medium, unique in size, unique in content, and ultimately unique in point of view. Having studied or trained elsewhere, they have all chosen to return to Badin, the town in Sindh, Pakistan where they grew up, and where now they live and work together. This place and this family grounding remain integral to what they produce, even if they observe the world around them in different ways. In presenting new works by these three artists, this exhibition captures a moment in their trajectories, recording careers that will certainly continue to morph and grow over time. Related visions of an artistic culture that the artists themselves are forming, these works represent distinctly distillations of the early 21st century in Pakistan.
