Singles' Social Walk | Woods, Cows & Conversations 🌳🐮 | Prelude*
Get ready for the next Prelude!
Fancy getting some fresh air, meeting some new people and doing something a little different on a Sunday morning?
For this Prelude, we’re heading out from Rochester for a social walk through Strood, Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve and into Cobham Woods, making our way towards the historic Mausoleum.
We’ll meet at 9:30am outside Café Lumiere in Rochester before setting off together. The walk to Cobham Woods should take around an hour, giving us plenty of time to chat and get to know everyone along the way.
Once we reach Cobham Woods, we’ll see if we can spot some of the Highland cows along the route 🐮 before stopping at the Mausoleum for a 30–45 minute break.
Then it’s back towards Rochester and Café Lumiere, with the whole morning expected to take under 3 hours — so you should be back in time for lunch and whatever else you've got planned for Sunday.
It’s roughly a 10K round trip, but this isn't a serious hiking expedition. It’s simply a chance to get outside, have a chat, meet some new people and enjoy a Sunday morning together.
Depending on the weather, parts of the route may be muddy or uneven, so trainers should be fine, but wear whatever footwear you're most comfortable walking in. Bring some water and anything else you might want for the break at the Mausoleum.
I'll also bring along some sweets to share along the way. 😉

The walk itself is free — the £3 Eventbrite registration simply helps cover the costs of organising and hosting the event.
Places are limited, so please register through Eventbrite so we know who's coming.
After the walk
We'll finish back around Café Lumiere. If people fancy grabbing a coffee or something to eat afterwards, you're very welcome to — but there's absolutely no obligation to stick around.
The idea is simply to have a relaxed Sunday morning, meet some new people and see where the conversation takes you.
You don't need to come with a friend — in fact, coming on your own is encouraged. Most people will be there for exactly the same reason: to meet some new people and have a good time.

Welcome to Singles' Social Club Rochester 👋
So… how are we supposed to meet people these days?
Dating apps? Exhausting.
Speed dating? Potentially awkward, and somehow expensive.
Going into London every weekend in the hope of meeting someone or making new friends?
Surely there’s another way.
That’s the idea behind Singles' Social Club Rochester.
A social club for local singles aged 24–38, created to make meeting new people feel a little more natural — and a lot more fun.
We’ll get together for everything from padel, pilates, paddleboarding and bouldering to yoga, dinners, comedy nights, cruises, pub quizzes, day trips and the occasional drink or two. Some events will be active, some relaxed, some slightly ridiculous — but they’ll all have one thing in common: a group of people who are actually up for meeting others.
Come on your own or bring a friend. Try something new. Make some friends. Have a drink. Have a laugh. Maybe flirt a little. And who knows… you might even meet someone you’d like to see again.
The events are aimed at 24–38-year-olds, but don’t worry if you’re a little outside that range — if you think you’ll fit in, you’re welcome.
We’ll aim to keep the groups roughly balanced between guys and girls, while making sure the focus stays on having a genuinely good time rather than treating every event like a dating exercise.
Why “Prelude”?
Each event is called a Prelude — Prelude 1, Prelude 2, Prelude 3 and so on.
Why? Because hopefully each one is the beginning of something: a new friendship, a new connection, a new experience… or perhaps something a little more.
