Join us for the 2026 Health Hero Celebration, an inspiring evening to honor and award this year's Health Hero Challenge winner and recognize the incredible work of all of the finalists. The celebration will be held on November 10th, 2026 at the Fitler Club in The Terrace from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
Philadelphia magazine's annual Health Hero Challenge recognizes medical professionals, frontline health workers, nonprofit leaders, teachers, coaches entrepreneurs, and community activists who are working to make real, lasting change in their communities from a health and wellness perspective. The challenge launched in May alongside our annual Be Well Philly Fest with a public call for nominations. From there, 10 semifinalists were selected and competed for votes online during the month of July. The top three finalists were then chosen to compete again in September to see who would be named the 2026 Health Hero.
The winner will be revealed at the Be Well Philly Health Hero Reception, a celebratory event where the semifinalists and finalists will be recognized for their outstanding contributions. The grand prize winner will receive $15,000 for their chosen charitable organization, while the runners-up will each receive $2,500, courtesy of Independence Blue Cross.
