Join us at Booksweet for our next Thursday Mystery Book Club! Get ready to dive into thrilling mysteries, discuss your favorite sleuth novels, and meet fellow armchair detectives. Whether you're a seasoned mystery reader or just starting to explore the genre, this club is the perfect place to share your thoughts, theories, and suspicions about all things mysterious.
For our next mystery book club, we'll discuss by Uzma Jalaluddin. We're meeting on Thursday December 3rd from 7pm to 8pm.

About the book
After her husband’s unexpected death eighteen months ago, Kausar Khan never thought she’d receive another phone call as heartbreaking—until her thirty-something daughter, Sana, phones to say that she's been arrested for killing the unpopular landlord of her clothing boutique. Determined to help her child, Kausar heads to Toronto for the first time in nearly twenty years.

And Kausar—a woman with a keen sense of observation and deep wisdom honed by her years—senses there’s more to the story than her daughter is telling.
With the help of some old friends and her plucky teenage granddaughter, this unlikely woman sleuth digs into the investigation to uncover the truth. Because who better to pry answers from unwilling suspects than a meddlesome aunty? But as this clever amateur sleuth digs deeper, even Kausar can’t predict the secrets, lies, and betrayals she finds along the way…

We hope to invite a group of people who have read the book (or don't mind a spoiler) to discuss their thoughts. We will bring prompts but invite anyone to pose a question or share their thoughts!
After our discussion, the group votes on the next session's read. Feel free to pitch a novel you've enjoyed recently and would like to share with the group, or bring a favorite that you want to share with others!
While we will have water and light refreshments (including gluten-free and nut-fred options), Booksweet is located in The Courtyard Shops, filled with excellent dining options. Food and drinks are totally welcome at the meet-up; don't feel shy about sipping boba while we chat!
