Our talk on 5th November is called “1066 and the yarn of the Bayeux Tapestry unspun” by Paul Haywood.
With the return of the Bayeux Tapestry to England the talk is an opportunity to revisit this famous historical item which appears to tell the story of the Norman invasion. Believed by some to have been commissioned by Odo, the Norman Bishop of Bayeux and produced by a group of English nuns. What contradictions occur in its threads and can we unravel its mysteries?
