Dive into the close-knit world of Pre-Raphaelite friends and family, where art and friendship go hand in hand.
About this Event

From the beginning, Pre-Raphaelitism was about men, their friendships, networks and art. Yet the women associated with the movement also had many connections, from family relationships to lifelong friendships. This talk will explore how those networks developed, and why they are significant, looking particularly at Christina and Maria Rossetti, Jane Morris and Lady Rosalind Howard, and Jane Morris and Bessie Burden.

Serena Trowbridge is Professor of Pre-Raphaelite Studies at Birmingham City University, Senior Vice-President of the BMI and Chair of the Pre-Raphaelite Society.

This event is part of the Art History Festival.
