Multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, academic, and sound artist, Riki Pirihi and award-winning author Tina Makereti weave their talents together to create a new work, commissioned by Chamber Music New Zealand, that seamlessly integrates kupu, taonga puoro and orchestral string instruments.Taking Māori futurism, whakapapa and taiao as its starting points, Ā mua spirals and forms connections across time. The tone shifts from the elemental and universal to the contemporary and gritty, but is always intimate.
