Nelson and Marlborough Orienteering Clubs invite all orienteers to Te Tau Ihu o te Waka-a-Maui to celebrate high-quality spring orienteering during the A-level 2026 Taitonga South Island Orienteering Championships, Labour Weekend of 24-26 October 2026 in the beautiful Tasman District. Like nearly all orienteering events, even a championship is open to members and non-members alike, with orienteering club members receiving a discount. And, like any orienteering event, there are courses for absolute beginners (during a championship known as 'recreational') and world-class orienteers.
The Championship consist of three individual events:
* Sprint, Saturday 24/10 on a new map in Tapawera;
* Long, Sunday 25/10, Teetotal – West, Nelson Lakes;
* Middle, Monday 26/10, West Bay, Nelson Lakes.

A 50% price increase will take effect after this date until midnight on Friday 9 October.
