About this Event
Step into the extraordinary world of Fernando Pessoa, one of Portuguese literature’s most iconic and elusive figures.
Far beyond traditional pseudonyms, Pessoa created full heteronyms—entirely distinct literary personalities with their own unique biographies, writing styles, philosophies, and worldviews. From the nature-bound poetry of Alberto Caeiro and the classicism of Ricardo Reis to the modern urban angst of Álvaro de Campos and the introspective prose of Bernardo Soares, Pessoa’s work offers a profound lens into human identity and existence.
Organized as part of the CML Speaker Series, this session explores how Pessoa's diverse voices shaped Portuguese Modernism and continue to influence global culture today.
The lecture will conclude with an interactive Q&A and open discussion, inviting participants to explore Pessoa’s enduring legacy together.
