Zingeray: a Yiddish Folksong Gathering

Join us for Zingeray! - a showcase of the rich heritage of Yiddish folksong. The program will feature leading contemporary Yiddish singers in a traditional song-sharing session performing unaccompanied. Zingerayn (song-sharing gatherings) developed during the 20th century within the "linke" (politically progressive) Yiddish-speaking communities in homes and summer retreats. The gatherings continue today. Curated by the Center for Traditional Music and Dance.
