Zachary Leo and his band are back at The Catfish to bring their exciting live show to you. Joining him on the night are the incredible Elaura & Alisya Rae.
Hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, Zachary Leo creates a bold and colourful fusion of funk, rock and modern pop. Inspired by artists including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Funkadelic and Tame Impala, his music combines wah-soaked guitars, fuzzy synthesisers, infectious bass lines and memorable pop hooks with honest reflections on love, heartbreak and mental health.
Since launching the Zachary Leo project in 2019, he has steadily established himself as one of Melbourne’s most distinctive emerging funk artists. Across nine singles and two EPs, Zachary has developed an immediately recognisable sound that is energetic, groove-driven and unafraid to blur the boundaries between classic funk musicianship, contemporary pop production and raw and emotional lyricism.
His music has received support from triple j, triple j Unearthed, FBi Radio, 3RRR, 4ZZZ, Beat Magazine, The AU Review, MILKY, Pilerats, scenestr and MTV. His sophomore EP, On My Mind, has generated more than 200,000 streams, while videos featuring his single “Pretty Girl” have surpassed one million views on TikTok.
As a live performer, Zachary has sold out several Australian headline shows and shared stages with artists including Cub Sport, Thirsty Merc, Pacific Avenue, Playlunch, Great Gable, Big Words and Borderline. His energetic performances, strong musicianship and charismatic stage presence have helped him build a growing audience across Australia and beyond.
