About this Event
Your Youth Mental Health First Aid certification lasts for three years following completion of your course. However, regularly refreshing your skills and knowledge is best practice to ensure you feel confident and equipped to support young people's mental health and wellbeing.
In partnership with Art4Space, the mental health awareness and training company It's a Playground will be facilitating an internationally recognised Youth Mental Health First Aid refresher course in Lambeth, London.
This is a great opportunity to revisit your skills, build confidence and connect IN PERSON with other Youth Mental Health First Aiders.
The team at Art4Space will also kick off the day with a creative mindful activity, offering an opportunity to pause, get creative and support your own wellbeing.
The session runs from 9 am to 1.30 pm, including additional time for personal or workplace action planning.
What to expect
- Learning through a mix of presentations, group discussions and interactive workshop activities.
- Revisiting the Youth Mental Health First Aid action plan and how to apply it when supporting young people.
- Refreshing your understanding of young people's mental health, common challenges and potential warning signs.
- Building confidence in recognising when a young person may be experiencing difficulties and knowing how to respond and signpost them to appropriate support.
- Opportunities to share experiences, reflect on practice and connect with other Youth MHFAiders.
- A maximum of 16 participants per course, allowing the instructor to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
