You Okay Mama? Mamas, Mentors and Me - Intergenerational Outdoor Play

Bring the kids, get outside, and connect with your village! Mamas, Mentors & Me is a free outdoor play program for Black mothers, caregivers, and children ages 5–12 in Toronto.

Families can expect a fun, welcoming day filled with

• unstructured outdoor play
• nature exploration, active games
• creative activities
• opportunities for children to make new friends

Youth Outdoor Play Mentors are there to support the children, encourage positive play, and help create a safe and inclusive environment.

While the children play and explore, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, and other caregivers can connect with one another through our Mama Circle—a welcoming space to share, relax, build relationships, and strengthen community.

There’s no cost and no commitment to attend every session. Families can join us when they’re available, and drop-ins are welcome. Just come ready to get outside, have fun, and let the kids lead the way!

What to expect:

• Free outdoor play for children ages 5–12
• Nature exploration and outdoor adventures
• Games, movement, and active play
• Creative and child-led activities
• Youth mentors supporting children during play
• Mama Circle for caregivers to connect and build community
• A welcoming space for Black families to meet, play, and enjoy the outdoors
