YIN & PIN WorkshopLimited to 10 participants
Deep relaxation through Yin Yoga + Acupuncture
Take a pause from the pace of everyday life and explore two practices rooted in the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of balance, energy, and the body’s natural rhythms.
Yin & Pin is a 90-minute collaborative experience from Warrior Heart USA and Aurora Acupuncture, bringing together 60 minutes of Yin Yoga and 30 minutes of acupuncture.
We’ll begin with a slow, quiet Yin Yoga practice. Unlike more active styles of yoga, Yin uses long-held, floor-based postures to gently work into the body’s deeper connective tissues while drawing on the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of the body’s meridian pathways and Qi. Rather than moving quickly from pose to pose, Yin invites you to become still, listen to the body, and create space for a deeper sense of ease and balance.
Following the Yin practice, you’ll settle into acupuncture with Aurora Acupuncture. Acupuncture uses very fine needles placed at specific points along the body’s meridian pathways, drawing on the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of Qi, balance, and the interconnectedness of the body. As you rest quietly with the needles in place, you’ll have an opportunity to settle more deeply into stillness and experience the quiet, contemplative quality of this traditional practice.
Together, Yin Yoga and acupuncture create a complementary experience rooted in stillness, awareness, and the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of Qi and balance.
No previous experience with Yin Yoga or acupuncture is necessary. This is an opportunity to learn, experience, and slow down.

A Few Things to Know
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin is a slower, quieter style of yoga. Rather than moving continuously from pose to pose, you'll spend several minutes in supported postures with plenty of time for stillness. Most poses are practiced close to the floor, and props are used to help you feel comfortable and supported.
Do I need to be flexible?
Not at all. Yin is not about how far you can stretch. The goal is to find an appropriate, comfortable position for your own body and then allow yourself to become still.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that uses very fine needles placed at specific points on the body. The needles are much thinner than those used for injections, and the experience is generally very gentle.
What happens during the acupuncture portion?
After the Yin practice, you'll settle into a comfortable position while Aurora Acupuncture places the needles. You'll then have approximately 30 minutes to rest quietly while the needles remain in place.
What should I wear?
Choose comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily and relax. Loose or stretchy clothing is ideal.
What should I bring?
A yoga mat if you prefer your own and anything that helps you feel comfortable during a restful practice, such as a blanket, socks, or an extra layer. Mats & props will be available at Warrior Heart USA.
What if I've never tried acupuncture?
That's completely fine. This workshop is designed to be welcoming to those who are experiencing acupuncture for the first time as well as those who already incorporate it into their wellness practice.
What if I'm new to Yin Yoga?
You're welcome here, too. No prior Yin Yoga experience is necessary. You'll be guided through the entire practice and offered options to make the postures comfortable and appropriate for your body.
