Join us at the Wānaka Recreation Centre on Tuesday 20 October from 3.30pm-5.30pm as we celebrate Aotearoa Play Week 2026 and the theme "Whānau play, where whānau are."Play Week is all about creating opportunities for whānau to connect, belong, and play together in the places they already gather. This free community event will bring families together for an afternoon of inflatables, games, and hands-on play experiences with the QLDC and Sport Central Tākaro Play Trailer. Enjoy a Lions Club sausage sizzle and a Mr Whippy ice cream while exploring the many ways play can strengthen connections, build wellbeing, and create lasting memories.
Come along, celebrate the unique play opportunities that make Wānaka special, and be part of a nationwide movement that encourages active, fun, and meaningful play for everyone.
