Who are you on the page?
Join instructor Melissa Dennihy for an evening of reflection, storytelling, and creative exploration as we use writing to better understand ourselves and the experiences that have shaped us. Through thoughtfully guided prompts inspired by writers such as Lily King, Maggie Smith, and Derek Walcott, you'll have the opportunity to begin—or continue—developing a memoir, short story, poem, personal essay, or any creative work centered on identity, growth, memory, and change.
This workshop is open to beginners and experienced writers alike. No prior writing experience is needed—only a willingness to explore the form and be part of a creative community! Practicing writers are welcome to bring works-in-progress related to the theme to workshop and discuss with fellow participants.

About The Instructor
Melissa Dennihy is a Professor of English at the City University of New York and has been teaching literature and writing for over 20 years. She has published a wide range of creative and academic works and recently released her first book.
A lifelong reader and writer, Melissa is passionate about helping others discover their unique voice through storytelling and creative expression. Drawing inspiration from dance, the performing arts, animals, nature, and the outdoors, she brings a thoughtful, encouraging, and imaginative approach to her workshops, creating a welcoming space for writers of all experience levels to explore, experiment, and grow.
