Join Reach Literacy for a special Author Talk with Jim Smorada as he guides us through the surprisingly meaningful process of writing our own obituary. An obituary is more than a list of dates, jobs, and accomplishments. It’s an opportunity to tell the story of a life: the people you love, the experiences that shaped you, the things you’re proud of, and even the little details that make you uniquely you.
During this conversation, Jim will share ideas for getting started, what you might want to include, and how writing your own obituary can be an interesting exercise in reflection, storytelling, and preserving your voice.
Come ready to reflect, learn, laugh, and look at your own story from a completely different perspective. It may sound a little spooky, but you might be surprised by just how meaningful writing your own ending can be.
