📍 Millennium Park | Open Shelter Bhttps://www.graud.org/upcoming-events/world-migratory-bird-day
Grab your binoculars and join us for a morning of birding, exploration, and community science at Millennium Park!
This year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme is Every Bird Counts: Your Observations Matter, celebrating the role that everyday bird observations can play in understanding and protecting birds.
Come explore three birding stations around the park, each highlighting different birds and habitats:
🌊 Oystercatcher Station | Shorebirds
🦆 Cinnamon Teal Station | Waterfowl
🌾 Barn Swallow Station | Field Birds
Along the way, help us build an event-wide bird species tally, practice identifying birds, learn how migratory birds depend on quality habitat, and discover how your own observations can contribute to community science.
There will also be family-friendly activities, partner tables, coloring, pinecone bird feeders, and more at our Welcome & Information Hub.
New to birding? You’re welcome here! No previous birding experience is needed. Whether you’re an experienced birder or picking up binoculars for the first time, we’d love to have you join us.
Presented by the Grand Rapids Bird City team with Grand Rapids Audubon Club, Kent County Parks, and Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.
