About this Event
Students will explore the art of 3D relief sculpting, learning key concepts related to the process such as “structural integrity, base, stability, perspective, substrate, high and low relief” and illusion. Using diverse mixed mixed-media materials, students will explore and create original 3D relief sculptural works on a flat surface, in any chosen style ie - Abstract, Dreamscape, Impressionism, Realism and more. I will encourage students to push and pull beyond the boundaries of the substrate and the surface with the intent to creating an illusive 3D effect designed to surprise and draw the viewer deep into their narrative.
This workshop will culminate with an informal critique discussion and photos.
The outcome will be a work of art that jumps off the canvas but hangs flat on the wall !
