Sign up On the WHI website.Experience the ancient method of transforming wool into felt. In this workshop you will learn how to use a “resist” to transform a flat 2D shape into a 3D vessel or … you can fashion it to be a jellyfish! Your personal vessel can become a secret hiding place for treasures, vase for dry wildflowers or perhaps a car coin holder for parking meter money. In addition to your felted vessel, you will go home with your “resist” and bubble wrap allowing you to make more when you get home. The workshop is appropriate for both beginners and those with felting experience.
We will use soapy water during the workshop, so participants should come prepared to get a bit wet. You will also need to bring two old towels to help keep things dry and a pair of pointy, sharp scissors. Kati invites you to indicate a specific wool color preference. Otherwise she is happy to choose a color for you.
Participants are encouraged to bring scraps of fiber, yarn or open weave fabric to incorporate if you wish. This vessel is a perfect piece to embellish further with stitching, beads and any other creative thing that inspires you.
The cost for the afternoon workshop is $45 which includes materials and the use of tools.
