About this Event
We are delighted to invite you to our annual NIHR North East and North Cumbria RRDN event: Working Together, Better: Research in the North East and North Cumbria.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn about collaborative research taking place across the North East and North Cumbria, find out how the RDN can support you, and connect with colleagues from health and care organisations, academia, local authorities, community organisations and beyond.
What to expect
In the morning, we will hear about a range of different RDN-supported projects around the broad theme of cross-organisational collaboration:
- Addressing health inequalities and expanding research access through the Coastal and Rural Research Engagement programme
- Research engagement in care homes: studies and partnerships
- Delivering commercial research at Foss Park Hospital
- Research engagement at Stockport County Football Club
It will conclude with an interactive workshop, which will get you talking to the other people on your table about the challenges and potential solutions to working across organisations.
The afternoon session will focus on how the RDN can support your work, including presentations on:
- How the RDN has changed since our last conference
- Improving study set-up times
- The RDN funding model, including a special focus on the upcoming Strategic and Wider Care Settings funding calls
We will finish with a 30-minute Q&A session with the RDN, giving you the opportunity to ask your questions.
