About this Event
Wordplay LIVE!
Submit a word. Watch it come to life.
What can one word inspire? A dance? A song? A work of art? At Wordplay, the possibilities unfold right before your eyes.
Join Dance Waterloo for Wordplay LIVE!, an interactive performance where audience-submitted words become the starting point for original dance, live music, and visual art. With six dancers, a musician, and a visual artist responding to submissions, each word takes on a life of its own.
Watching is completely free! Come enjoy the performances, discover what the artists create, and experience the unexpected. Want to be part of the creative process? Purchase a word submission and watch your word inspire a custom dance, original song, and one-of-a-kind piece of visual art that's yours to keep.

Sunday, December 6, 2026 | Morning Release
Can't make it in person? Your word can still be part of the experience!
Purchase a Wordplay REPLAY! ticket and submit your word in advance. Our artists will create a personalized dance, original song, and one-of-a-kind piece of visual art inspired by your submission.
Your performance will be recorded and shared on Dance Waterloo's social media channels throughout the morning of December 6, where anyone can watch for free. You'll be able to revisit and share your creation whenever you'd like.
Your original artwork will be mailed to you during the week of December 7.
Two ways to participate. One word. Endless possibilities.
