This time of year we turn our attention to removing species with woody stems. Multiflora Rose, bush honeysuckle, oriental bittersweet, and autumn olive are the big four we’re contending with. Invasive species removal is a great way to get an intimate look at the preserve while helping to ensure that native plants and wildlife can continue to thrive here.Be prepared to work outside. We recommend long sleeves and long socks to prevent insect bites/stings. Conditions on the workday may be wet. We will provide all the necessary equipment, gear, light snacks, and water. We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.
Please fill out the online Volunteer Application prior to attending. We’ll also have hard copies for you at the workday. Stop by to lend a hand and chat with our staff about other opportunities that can flex your skills and fulfill your interests!
