If you have ever thought, “No one is going to believe me,” this group was built for you.
You do not have to prove what happened.
You do not have to know exactly what it was.
And you do not have to decide whether your experience was paranormal, spiritual, psychological, anomalous, or something else before you are allowed to talk about it.
Supernatural Assault Support Group (SAS) is a free, facilitated peer-support gathering for adults whose extraordinary or difficult-to-explain experiences have become frightening, intrusive, distressing, or disruptive.
Experiences may include sensed presences, apparitions, disturbing dreams, unusual perceptions, frightening synchronicities, perceived psychic or spiritual phenomena, or experiences that simply do not fit neatly into an explanation.
Your experience is enough to begin the conversation—and by sharing your voice, you may help someone else feel less alone.
What to expect
SAS functions much like a traditional support group.
We will begin by establishing a respectful space, followed by introductions and an opportunity for participants to share what brought them there. Sharing is always optional. You are equally welcome to listen.
The conversation is facilitated without directing participants toward a predetermined explanation. We may talk about the experiences themselves, their impact on everyday life, fear and isolation, coping and grounding, personal agency, and what kinds of support are actually helpful.
One person may understand an experience spiritually. Another may consider a paranormal explanation. Someone else may remain completely uncertain.
You do not have to agree about what it means in order to be heard.
What this group is—and what it isn't
SAS is about support, not proof.
No one is expected to defend an experience or convince anyone else that their interpretation is correct. Participants are asked not to diagnose one another or impose paranormal, spiritual, psychological, religious, or other explanations on someone else's experience.
SAS is also separate from MCPS investigative and individual services. Attending the group does not mean that MCPS has determined an experience to have a paranormal or supernatural cause.
We don't have to settle the cause of an experience in order to take the person experiencing it seriously.
A few important things
This gathering is for adults 18 and older and is limited to 10 participants.
Sharing is optional. Passing is always allowed. Participants may step out at any time.
Participants are asked to respect the privacy of others. Photography, audio recording, and video recording are not permitted during the group.
SAS is a peer-support and educational gathering. It is not psychotherapy, crisis intervention, medical care, or a substitute for appropriate professional care.

About the facilitator
Dr. Sica Leigh is Director of the Midwestern Center for Parapsychological Studies and brings an interdisciplinary background in healthcare, education, integrative practice, consciousness studies, and parapsychology.
Her work emphasizes curiosity without coercion, respect for lived experience, multiple possible interpretations, and the agency of the person having the experience.
