About this Event
We are thrilled to be partnering with exhibiting artist Nik Gelormino for a woodcarving workshop at MCD. Gather with us in the galleries for a making experience rooted in wood and the simple pleasure of shaping the material by hand.
Using a carving knife and working directly with Gelormino, participants will learn the fundamentals of woodcarving: exploring grain, texture and techniques as a rough piece of wood is slowly shaped into a tactile form through patience and human touch. No prior experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided, and each participant will leave with a hand-carved object.
Join us for an opportunity to learn from a practicing artist, connect with the material, and experience making something by hand.
