About this Event
In this talk, Diana Carolina Sierra Becerra draws from her book The Making of Revolutionary Feminism in El Salvador (Cambridge University Press, 2025) to examine the history of daring women who organized one of the most combative labor movements in the Americas, took up arms to survive U.S.-financed terror, and forged connections between women’s liberation and socialism. Drawing on oral histories and understudied archival sources, she shows how generations of women challenged patriarchal traditions and developed a revolutionary theory and practice to achieve liberation. Their efforts to build feminist popular power offer important strategic lessons in an age of growing fascism.
