East End Books Ptown presents: Women's Week Special: Marcie Ruderman and Judy Lannon in Conversation 10/13 at 4pm.
Marcie Ruderman's book of poetry, LIFE, LOVE, AND EVERYTHING IN-BETWEEN (Kelsay Books), is her 4th published book and her second book of poetry. She previously wrote THE MARGINAL WAY, a thriller, OFF THE BEATEN TALE, a collection of short stories, and FEMININE FACES, her first book of poems. A former instructor of writing at CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK, Marcie has incorporated the beauty of the natural world, newly discovered and lost relationships, politics, and women's issues into her own writing. Her short story "Ode to Joy" won first prize in THE MIDNIGHT OIL LITERARY JOURNAL, and her essay "For Whom the Bells Toll" won first prize in BROOKLYN BRIDGE magazine. Marcie is proud to be a resident of Provincetown, where she lives with her wife, Alysa, and their golden retriever, Chloe.
Born and bred in New York City, Marcie Ruderman earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in English Literature and Writing, with thirty credits above her Master's in Creative Writing. She taught expository and creative writing at two New York City high schools, as well as at Kingsborough Community College, a branch of the City University of New York. Her short story "The Unmooring" won first prize in the contest held by Midnight Oil literary journal, her essay "For Whom the Bell Tolls" won first prize in the contest held by Brooklyn Bridge magazine, her short story "Circling for Home" appeared in Entropy literary journal, and her short story "Ode to Joy" was printed in Midstream magazine. Her first book of poetry, Feminine Faces, her short story collection, Off the Beaten Tale, and her novel, The Marginal Way, have all been independently published.

Judy is the author of Nine Days, The Making of Genevieve, Callahan’s Cottage and Back to the Cape. She feels it’s a cliché to say she is inspired by the ocean, but it undeniably finds its way into her stories.
