SAPPHIC S’MORES: STORIES BY THE FIRE - Women's Week Special Event @ East End Books Ptown 10/14 @ 5pm
Join Melissa Brayden, Rachel Lacey, Aurora Rey, S.E. Smyth, Rachel Spangler, and Alexis Westmore Wednesday, October 14th for an intimate reading and signing experience hosted at East End Books’ outdoor venue. Enjoy the Cape Cod sunset amidst firelight reading, lively conversation, author audience games, and s’mores.
From 5:00–6:00 p.m., readers will enjoy brief author readings, lively conversation, playful audience participation, and s’mores in a setting shaped by the beauty of Cape Cod. The event begins in the warmth of the autumn sunset and transitions toward the glow of the firepit. We’re creating an atmosphere that is coastal, welcoming, and unmistakably Provincetown. Book sales and personal signings will follow the program.
The evening will also feature a s’more-making challenge inspired by Provincetown’s fishing heritage. With their hands transformed into “lobster claws,” the authors will compete to assemble the least messy, most elegantly presented s’more. Readers will do more than watch: audience participation will help determine which author best combines creativity, composure, and presentation under deliciously difficult conditions.
Whether you come to see an author you already love or arrive ready to discover someone new, the evening is designed to create a memorable connection between writers, readers, and books. Meet the authors, hear their work in their own voices, and purchase personally signed books to take home.
