ARE YOUR MEDICATIONS STILL RIGHT FOR YOU?
What Every Woman Should Know About Her Medications, Her Health & Asking the Right Questions

You take your medications every day. But do you know if they’re still the right medications for you?

Our health changes. Our lifestyles change. Our priorities change. And sometimes, the medications we’ve been taking for years may need to change with us.

It’s easy to assume that once a Medic*tion has been prescribed, the answer is simply to keep taking it. But medications can have side effects, interact with one another, and affect us differently as our health and circumstances evolve.

And when you’re taking multiple medications, the picture can become even more complicated.

THIS IS YOUR HEALTHCARE. YOU SHOULD BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION.

On Wednesday, October 21st, Stacey D’Angelo, Pharmacist and founder of Your Simple Health, joins Wallet to Wealth for a practical and engaging conversation about becoming a more informed and confident participant in your healthcare decisions.

We’ll explore Medic*tion side effects, interactions, taking multiple medications, and what happens when the medications you’ve been taking for years may no longer be the best fit for your current health and circumstances.

Stacey will also introduce us to deprescribing — the careful process of reducing or stopping medications when they may no longer be needed, appropriate or beneficial.

Some commonly used medications, including certain antidepressants and sleeping medications, can require careful planning when reducing or stopping them. Understanding this process can help you have better conversations with your healthcare team and make more informed decisions about your care.

Taking control of your healthcare doesn’t mean managing it alone.

It means understanding your options, asking informed questions and having the confidence to participate in the decisions being made about your health.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This conversation is especially relevant for women who want to feel more informed and engaged in their healthcare, particularly if you:

  • Are making meaningful lifestyle changes and want to understand how those changes may affect your medications and overall health.
  • Have been taking medications for years and are wondering whether they still make sense for your current health and circumstances.
  • Want to have more collaborative and productive conversations with your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professionals.
  • Are supporting an aging parent, partner or loved one and want to feel more informed and prepared when helping navigate their medications.
  • Are considering starting, changing, reducing or stopping a Medic*tion and want to better understand your options.

No medical background is required. Just curiosity, an open mind and a willingness to ask questions.

WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH
  • Better questions to ask about your medications — including whether they’re still needed, working as intended, causing unwanted effects or aligned with your current health and goals.
  • A better understanding of Medic*tion-related problems, including side effects, interactions and the potential impact of taking multiple medications over time.
  • A practical introduction to deprescribing and why some medications need to be reduced gradually rather than stopped suddenly.
  • More confidence navigating healthcare conversations and participating in decisions about your own care.
  • Greater awareness of how your medications fit into the bigger picture of your health, lifestyle and personal goals.
