Core repertoire draws from contemporary and traditional folk music of the U.S., Canada, and the British Isles, along with familiar standards. Covered artists include but are not limited to: Pete Seeger, Woodie Guthrie, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, Alison Krauss, Tom Paxton, Peter, Paul & Mary, Ian and Sylvia, and more.
"Witness Trees" of many kinds exist all around the world. Some are living witnesses to a specific historical event. Some are denizens, designated as special meeting places, and still others may be specific to family. Thus, Witness Tree Reunion performances take audiences on an evocative musical journey to special places in time.
Matt Miskie has been on the road sharing stories and songs for the better part of 45 years. His entertaining songs and stories have delighted audiences of all ages. He is a life-long advocate for the environment, preservation of wild places, social justice and arts in education.
Madeline Miskie is thrilled to come home to her musical roots with Witness Tree Reunion and grateful for the opportunity collaborate with her Dad. Although Madeline performs in multiple styles and genres, her main objective as a vocalist is to uplift her audiences by sharing meaningful, thematic programs. Outside of performing, Madeline is a voice teacher, yoga instructor and the owner and founder of Windsong Voice and Yoga, her private studio in Columbia, Maryland. She is a proud alumna of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Maryland.
