About this Event
Join us for a workshop on witch bottles where we will discuss several different examples of bottles found in the UK, examining different source materials on apotropaic magic, and finally crafting our own traditional witch bottles with contents informed by our discussions.
This workshop will involve witchcraft including knot magic, protective amulets and wards as well as discussion surrounding bodily fluids and as such is not appropriate for children.We encourage you to bring your own items representing what you are hoping to protect, for example family members or pets, we suggest shed hair, pet hair or claw sheds, though this is not essential and bottles can still be tailored to protect without physical items.
Bottles and contents will be provided.
