Would you like to get to know how we celebrate Independence Day and where these traditions come from? Would you like to learn more about the Polish history through the lenses of personal stories? On this evening, we will travel between two worlds- the imaginary and the real one – legends and folk stories will mix with personal stories to bring Polish history closer to you. Some of them will bring memories of loss, danger and fights, some will be full of joy, fortune strokes of fate and victorious endings. During the gathering, we will be accompanied by traditional songs and instruments. If you would like to share with us what emotions the history of your country brings to you, particularly the one linked to the road to independence as well as if and how the history of your country has left a mark on your personal journey, there will be space for that.
We are Polish Tales in English, a collective of storytellers dedicated to sharing traditional Polish tales and legends with the global community. Sometimes language, geography, or climate may keep us apart. But what truly brings people together—no matter what part of the world they come from—is stories!
The event will feature both a performance and a workshop section.
Total duration: approx. 2.5 hours. Free admission.
🕛When: 7th of November. The performance will start at 18.00, but if you want to meet other people participating in this event or simply talk to us about Polish traditions, we will be there for you since 17.30.
📍Where: Dom w Alejach, al. Aleje Jerozolimskie 2, 00-375 Warsaw
🙂For whom: for foreigners living, studying or visiting Poland and Poles who are willing to participate in this community-building experience.

Niektóre z nich przywołają wspomnienia strat, niebezpieczeństw i walki, inne zaś będą pełne radości, szczęśliwych zrządzeń losu i zwycięskich zakończeń.
Spotkaniu towarzyszyć będą tradycyjne pieśni i brzmienia dawnych instrumentów.
Czas trwania: ok. 2,5 godziny. Wstęp wolny.
Kiedy: 7 listopada.
