About this Event
What the Body Knows: Ageing, body, and health together
Date & Time: October 21, 2026 at 12:00 PM (BST)
This in-person gathering creates a rare and genuinely safe space for older LGBTI+ people to speak openly about health and the body, as part of the Community Conversation Project.
So much of what older LGBTI+ people experience around health, ageing, and the body stays unspoken, overlooked by mainstream healthcare conversations and rarely reflected in the services meant to support us. This session is designed to change that. Together, we'll create space to share experiences, be heard, and connect with others who understand.
What to expect
- A sharing circle - an open, honest conversation about how we can better engage with and support older LGBTIQ+ people, and what real, meaningful connection with our community looks like
- A creative activity - a playful, interactive exercise exploring our relationship with our bodies and health as we age
- Space to simply be heard, without pressure or expectation
Who this is for: Older LGBTIQ+ adults (45+)
Format: In-person, interactive session including group discussion and a creative activity. (Lunch and creative materials provided)
Accessibility: Step-free access and a quiet space available
