Join professional photographer Ian Munro for a full day of hands-on learning, creative set building and styled portrait photography.
Taking place from 10am-4pm, this practical workshop will take you behind the scenes of Ian’s creative process. From an initial idea through to the finished portrait. Ian will demonstrate how to transform a simple studio space using imaginative set design, carefully chosen props and creative lighting.
You’ll learn how to plan and build an effective portrait set, position and direct a model, and use GlareOne lighting equipment to shape the mood and bring your idea to life. Ian will explain his thought process throughout the day, helping you understand not only how an image was created, but why each creative decision was made.
The focus will be on achievable techniques that you can adapt and recreate within your own photography. You’ll then have the opportunity to photograph the model yourself, experiment with the setups and receive practical guidance from Ian.

Sony equipment available to try
This workshop is sponsored by Sony, whose team will be on hand throughout the day with a selection of Sony cameras and lenses for you to test.
Photographers using all camera systems are welcome. The day is particularly valuable for existing Sony users who want to get more from their equipment, as well as anyone considering switching to the Sony system and wanting to experience it in a real studio environment.
Please bring your own camera if you would like to use it, along with a fully charged battery. Most importantly, don’t forget your memory card, so you can take your images home with you.

- Places available: Limited to just 12 attendees.

The £85 ticket price helps cover the running costs of the event and allows us to keep the group small, giving everyone meaningful shooting time and access to Ian’s guidance.
