Dillon Consulting Limited was retained by the County of Wellington to complete a road study for Wellington Road 46 (Brock Road South) through Aberfoyle, from Wellington Road 34 to Gilmour Road. The study was initiated in response to the @Town of Puslinch advocating for roadway lane redesignation and reconfiguration to convert the travel lanes to one lane in each direction with a centre left turn lane and on-street parking along with other design measures to reduce traffic volume and speed through Aberfoyle.
The study has considered a range of options for the road, including two alternatives that would maintain the existing four travel lanes and two alternatives that would consist of three travel lanes with on street parking. Traffic calming of the existing four lane road has been identified as the preferred solution based on a comparative evaluation of the alternatives. This solution maintains the existing four travel lanes and introduces design measures that aim to reduce traffic speeds and increase safety.
Public Open House:
A Public Open House is being held to provide information about the study and the evaluation of alternatives for review and feedback. Members of the project team will be available to respond to questions and comments.
