Prerequisite: To register, participants must have successfully completed 577’s Learn to Weave class. Weaving II classes differ from Creative Weaving Workshop classes as they involve either a larger project, a more complex warp, or a deeper look at a technique over a longer period of time. For the Color in Warp & Weft class, looms will be prewarped with a variety of colors of wool yarn (colors may vary from example photo) and participants will choose their own weft yarns to explore the interaction of warp and weft colors. This class is all about playing with the possibilities of different color combinations on the loom.
Class will begin with a weaving demonstration and there will be plenty of technical assistance and guidance to help build skills as well as a discussion of different finishing techniques. Completed projects will be approximately 10" x 22".
During the last part of class, instructor will share ideas and tips on projects that can be made from pieces handwoven in class, with a demonstration of how to hand sew woven pieces into a small bag or other item at home.
