Join washi expert Paul Denhoed (Washi Academy and Oguni washi) to learn about the extraordinary history, variety and uses of washi (Japanese handmade paper).
Paul is a paper researcher and papermaker, based in Tokyo, and working closely with Oguni washi, a traditional Japanese paper from Niigata Prefecture, deeply connected to the landscapes of Japan’s 'snow country'.

Our studio is in a former schoolhouse, nestled in the tranquil garden of St Anthony's Hall and overlooked by the city walls. York railway station is within a 20-minute walk and the Peasholme Green bus stops are located just outside the entrance to the garden. Q-Park Shambles is nearby.
