Waseela Film Night: The Burdened (المرهقون)
Waseela Relief Association invites you to a special screening of The Burdened (Al-Murhaqoon), an award-winning Yemeni film directed by Amr Gamal.
Set in Aden and inspired by true events, the film follows Isra'a and Ahmed, a couple striving to provide a better life for their three children. When Isra'a discovers she is pregnant again, they face a difficult decision shaped by economic hardship and the toll of war.
Awards: Amnesty International Film Award at Berlinale 2023, plus two awards at the Valencia International Film Festival.
Through this screening, Waseela hopes to bring our community together, share stories from Yemen, and introduce more people to our work supporting education and livelihoods in Yemen.
Age Restriction: This screening is for attendees aged 12 and older.
Donations during the event are welcome! Visit Waseela's website to donate and to read about our work.
