Walk: Up the Creek

This walking tour with Pete Smith begins under the figurehead of “The Cutty Sark” on the Greenwich riverfront (nearest station Cutty Sark: Docklands Light Railway).

It follows the Thames across Deptford Creek, and loops inland past the church where the playwright and spy Christopher Marlowe was buried after meeting a violent and mysterious end nearby. It goes on across the route of London’s first railway to plunge into the busy market at the heart of the vibrant multicultural community that is modern Deptford.
