Join Otis Library, Avalonia Land Conservancy, and the Connecticut Land Conservation Council for a special Walktober Nature Walk and Talk! We will begin at 10:00 AM at Cedar Wood Preserve for a guided walk through the preserve while using the iNaturalist app to document the plants, animals, fungi, and other natural discoveries we encounter along the way.Following the walk, participants will gather at Otis Library for a light lunch and a discussion of our observations and findings. Learn how community science tools like iNaturalist help conservationists track biodiversity, monitor environmental changes, and support land conservation efforts throughout Connecticut and beyond.
Whether you are new to nature exploration or already enjoy hiking and wildlife observation, this program is a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn new skills, and contribute to real conservation research.
