State Rep Kate Lipper-Garabedian, the 2025 Keep Massachusetts Beautiful Environmental Legislator of the Year, will host her 5th annual Recycling & Sustainability Day for the Town of Wakefield, Saturday, Oct 31, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Wakefield High School located at 60 Farm Street. Reservoir will be sharing information and live demonstrations of smart electric water heaters.
With no fee per car, residents can upcycle household items (with right to refuse poor quality items) with Habitat for Humanity and recycle furniture with Project Home Again. Residents can recycle outdated electronics with peace of mind for proper data erasing with Green Team Junk Removal. Fees will be charged for rigid plastics ($10 apiece), TVs ($20), monitors ($20), window ACs ($10), mattresses ($50), box springs ($50), and car tires ($15 with rims or $12 without).
