A little information and history about the Golden Givings Gift Program:
Golden Givings is a gift giving program that I started almost 18 years ago for the elderly in our area's nursing homes. As a member of Law Enforcement, I have seen many citizens many, of them elderly, in deplorable conditions. I wanted to show that people do care about these lonely souls. I discovered especially during the Holidays many of these Golden citizens are lonely, sad, and forgotten. It is amazing what a small gift of love and appreciation can do to the spirits and overall happiness of one of our elderly citizens. In 2008, the first year of Golden Givings over 200 gifts were delivered to the elderly and sick in nursing homes. Since 2008 Golden Givings has increased in totaling over 30,000 gifts delivered to those in need in 17 years. Golden Givings not only provided gifts to the elderly in nursing facilities but also has distributed gifts to abused and neglected children, sick children in hospitals, the homeless in family shelters, and to the terminally ill in hospice care.
Every year the need is even greater and that is where I am graciously asking for your assistance. To keep up with the increasing need. My love for the Halloween Holiday I have put together the Crystal Community Club Halloween Monster Bash to benefit Golden Givings. Some of the ways that you can help as a good neighbor and member of the business community are through monetary donations, gift certificates, gift baskets, or purchasing of a table of 10 for $250 or individual tickets at $25 per ticket/ $30 at the door. Any help or assistance will be thankfully accepted.
