About this Event
AI is already finding its way into workplace tools and processes. The question is whether your organisation has clear governance for how it is used.
Without clear responsibilities and practical guardrails, AI use can become fragmented, difficult to oversee, and harder to explain when something goes wrong.
This hands-on WA Responsible AI Governance Sprint helps leaders move from general AI oversight to practical governance. Using realistic, low-risk scenarios, you will examine how AI decisions should be governed, who is accountable, what boundaries are needed, and how governance can support responsible integration.
Who this is for
This session is designed for:
- Executives and board members
- Risk, privacy, and compliance professionals
- Data and technology leaders
- Public-sector leaders and policy managers
- Senior professionals responsible for AI strategy, governance, or oversight
What we will do together
- Stress-test governance in practical scenarios: Explore realistic AI situations and consider how responsibilities, risks, and decisions should be handled.
- Define accountability: Map who is responsible for AI decisions, data, risk controls, review, and escalation across your organisation.
- Set practical governance boundaries: Apply a responsible integration checklist to identify where clearer controls or decision points are needed.
- Build your governance artefact: Create an AI Governance Position and Accountability Map that can be used for internal review and discussion with senior leadership.
- Identify next steps: Define priority governance actions and relevant WA AI Hub pathways for continued capability building.
What you will take home
- An AI Governance Position and Accountability Map
- A practical Responsible AI Integration Checklist
- Clear AI governance and accountability actions
- A starting point for your organisation's AI governance roadmap
Good to know
Please bring your laptop for the practical activities. The session uses realistic, low-risk scenarios rather than confidential corporate, government, or personal data. You may bring general information about your organisation's governance structure or AI priorities, but do not bring sensitive information. No technical background is required. This is a practical professional development sprint and does not provide legal advice, an audit, or certification against a standard.

Refund, Cancellation and Transfer Policy
1) Your legal rights: Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this policy limits them. This policy applies to tickets for this event only.
2) If we cancel or materially change the event: If we cancel this event, or change its date, content, format or delivery mode so materially that it no longer meets your reasonable needs, you can choose either:
(a) a full refund of the total you paid, including Eventbrite fees, to your original payment method; or
(b) a transfer to a later event of your choice.
We do not deduct any fee from these refunds. Minor changes, such as a substitute presenter, a running-order change, or a different room at the same venue, do not entitle you to a refund under this clause. If you think a change is material, email and we will decide within 5 business days. We will give reasons if we decline, and your legal rights are unaffected.
3) If you cannot attend: Tickets are non-refundable for change of mind. If you tell us at least 14 days before the event, you may move your ticket once to another session, subject to availability. It has no cash value.
4) Transferring your ticket to another person: You may transfer your ticket to another person up to 7 days before the event, by emailing with the new attendee’s name and email, or via Eventbrite’s transfer tool where enabled. Tickets must not be resold for more than you paid. We set this cut-off because we confirm final attendee numbers with the venue and caterer, and prepare name badges and course materials, 7 days before each event.
5) No-show or leaving early: No refund or credit is available if you do not attend or leave part-way through, except as required by law.
6) Refund requests: Email with your name, order number and the clause you rely on. We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and decide them within 10 business days. Approved refunds go to the original payment method and normally appear within 5 to 10 business days.
7) Conduct: We may refuse entry or remove an attendee who endangers others or seriously disrupts the event. No refund is due for that. This does not limit your legal rights.
8) Tickets sold through Eventbrite: Eventbrite processes tickets. Its refund tools and terms apply in addition to this policy, and we will honour the rights set out here. For advisory, training or consulting under a separate written agreement, that agreement’s terms apply together with clauses 1 and 2.
