About this Event
Learn new art techniques, connect with fellow creatives, and gain hands-on event experience! Volunteer alongside artist Grace Chu to explore Eastern and Western mediums from the inside out—no experience needed, and travel costs are reimbursed.
We are looking for volunteers to help assist the artist Grace Chu with the running of a series of art workshops on Tuesdays over a period of four weeks, from October 13th to November 3rd.
If you think you can help, book a ticket and a member of the Libraries team will then get in touch with you via email.
Ideally, we are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to assisting on each of the following dates:
Tuesday 13 October
Tuesday 20 October
Tuesday 27 October
Tuesday 3 November
On each of these days, there will be a morning session from 11am-1pm and an afternoon session from 3pm - 5pm. Volunteers will assist with setting up and clearing away, and therefore we would be asking for your help between 10am - 2pm, or 2pm to 6pm. If you are able to assist with both the morning and afternoon sessions, this would be ideal, but if you are only able to do one slot, we'd still love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up the workshop venue before participants arrive.
- Arrange art materials and tools, including easels, tables, chairs, and painting supplies.
- Prepare painting mediums and materials for participants.
- Provide general assistance and support to participants throughout the workshop sessions.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment during the workshop.
- Assist with tidying and cleaning the venue after the workshop.
- Help with the handling and storage of artworks for exhibition purposes.
Volunteers are expected to be punctual, helpful, and able to work collaboratively in a creative workshop environment.
There will be a one-hour lunch break between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, to be arranged by the workshop facilitator.
Travel costs will be reimbursed.
